Using & Adjusting Your EZ Rider Burnishing Adapter
Using your cutter wrench, first remove the gold knob from your burnish tool.
Slide your EZ-Rider burnishing Adapter on your burnishing tool ast show in #3, and tighten the set screw on the adapter.
Screw your burnishing tool into your spindle, and with your cutter wrench, adjust the burnishing cutter where is about 1/4” below the nose cone as shown in #4.
#5 shows the EZ-Rider with no pressure on the cutter. You can push the burnishing tool from the bottom and see the spring compress. This compression is called pre-load. It is required to keep the burnishing tool always touch the engraving surface when engraving.
Depending on the type of system you have, move the spindle over the material. Using your Z-key, send the spindle down to the engraving plate. As your burnishing tool makes contact with the engraving surface, the EZ-Rider Adapter spring will start compressing. Keep sending the Z-axis down until the allen screw in the window of the EZ-Rider Adapter looks like # 5. Make sure you turn off your proximity switch if your engraver is so equipped.
